Myself

My Name

My name is Ren... like the bird, minus the 'W.' A wren is "a small, active songbird of the family Troglodytidae." My middle name is also that of my grandmother, and is derived from:
cel · les · tial

(1350; Middle English, from Anglo-French, from Latin caelestis, caelum sky)

1. of, relating to or suggesting heaven or divinity: 'celestial beings'
2. of or relating to the sky or visible heavens: 'the sun, moon and stars are celestial bodies'
3. ethereal, otherwordly: 'celestial music'
4. a heavenly or mythical being
According to spiritual analysis, I am: an active thinker with a 'restless urge to explore new ideas.' Blunt in expression. Self assertive and independent. Creative, inventive and ingenious in practical matters. Impulsive and forceful when opposed. Intolerant of domination by others, or circumstances that restrict my freedom. Inclined to make abrupt changes in my life.

My Story

I was born nineteen years ago in Cleveland, Ohio... the first and only child of Janie and Mike. My parents brought me home to a tiny house on the edge of the city. It was so small that, when watching TV, they could hand the remote to each other from across the living room. When I was a year old, my dad found a good job and we moved to a big house on the outskirts of Cleveland, in a suburb called Fairview Park.

I don't remember a lot about my childhood, other than that I grew up in a really loving environment. My mom gave up her career of senior editor at American Greetings to stay home and raise me. She was really amazing. We always had fun.

It must have been '98 or '99 when she was diagnosed with lung cancer, but I can hardly remember. She passed away on September 28, 2000. I was eleven years old.

After her death, I struggled with anorexia and self injury for about seven years and I was in and out of psychiatric wards and emergency rooms. That ended in 2007, when I was admitted to a drug rehabilitation program for an addiction to cocaine.

During those seven years, I dropped out of high school, excelled in an alternative program, and went on to attend the local community college, a semester ahead of my graduating class. I have an IQ of 150. I know, I didn't believe it, either.

My Life Today

I still live in Fairview Park, with my dad and my dog, Zeus. I like spending time in my room, using PhotoShop CS3 and watching Friends on DVD. I like to decorate and make things. You can always find me singing along really loud to my favourite music. I read a lot. I love going on spontaneous adventures. I'm active in Narcotics Anonymous, and my sponsor is the best.

I dye my hair too much and I wear a ton of makeup. I have two tattoos and nine piercings. I tend to dress kind of crazy. I like making jewelry and modifying clothes.

The most widely used word to describe me would probably be 'crazy.' I'm silly and fun and playful. I have tons of energy and I talk a lot. I do have a high IQ, but I'm bad at common sense. I can be really ditzy. I'm often forgetful and scatterbrained. I laugh a lot, mostly at myself.
